Heritage School partners with AIIMS Jammu for burn awareness and prevention workshop

JAMMU: Heritage School, in collaboration with AIIMS Jammu, organized a comprehensive Burn Awareness, Prevention, and First Aid program to educate students on the importance of burn safety.
The event took place on Monday, featuring Dr. Rahul Gorka, Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at AIIMS, as the main speaker, along with his team comprising Dr. Abhinav, Dr. Parvez, and nursing officers Manisha, Vikas Bairwa, Sarika, and Anjali.
The program aimed to instill a deep understanding of burn injuries and equip students with the knowledge necessary to prevent and respond effectively to such incidents. The event comprised the following key components: Understanding Burn Injuries: Students learned about the different types of burns, common causes, and real-life scenarios through engaging presentations and case studies.
Prevention Strategies: Interactive demonstrations highlighted fire safety measures, safe handling of hazardous materials, and responsible behavior in various environments.
First Aid and Emergency Response: The session equipped students with knowledge on immediate first aid actions for different burn degrees, emphasizing the importance of seeking professional help promptly.
The workshop also included Pre- and Post-Tests, assessments to measure the impact of the program, showcasing the knowledge gained by participants. The final segment was Q&A Session which facilitated further learning and dialogue.
The Principal Heritage School, Akash Pradhan, felicitated Dr. Rahul Gorka and his team by presenting the school memento. He extended his gratitude to Dr. Gorka on behalf of the Heritage family for this valuable learning initiative.
