DLSA Udhampur organises sensitization Program on settlement of cases through Mediation

UDHAMPUR: Following the Common Minimum Programme provided by J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Udhampur Y.P. Bourney and overall Supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, a Sensitization Programmes regarding settlement of cases through Mediation at Conference Hall District Court Complex Udhampur was organized today by District Legal Services Authority.

The Resource persons of the Programme were Adv. B.B Sharma and Adv. Balwan Singh. The programme was attended by the President Bar Association Udhampur Mr. J.D Slathaia, Mediators and Panel Lawyers of DLSA Udhampur and Advocates from District Court Udhampur.

The Resource persons highlighted the importance of Settlement of disputes at pre institution stage. The resource persons encouraged the gathering to settle their disputes out of the court as the Indian Judicial System is over burdened with litigations. The participants were sensitized with various Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanisms which they can initiate in resolution of disputes at the Pre-Ligation stage.

Vote of thanks was presented by the President Bar Association Udhampur and compeering of the programme was conducted by Panel Lawyer Adv. Akhil Dubey.

Secretary, DLSA Udhampur, Rajni Sharma thanked the participants for participating in the Legal Sensitization Programme, and urged the general masses, including Legal Fraternity to avail the services of Legal services Institutions for settlement of their disputes through Mediation and conciliation.
