Reviews expenditure monitoring, other election preparedness

SHOPIAN: Election Expenditure Observer, Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, Shyam Manohar Singh today visited Shopian and chaired a review meeting with Nodal officers on expenditure monitoring and other Election preparedness in the Zainapora Assembly Constituency.

The District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb at the outset briefed the Election Observer about functioning of expenditure monitoring teams viz. Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, District Election Control Room, details of permissions for political campaigning, District Election Management Plan, SVEEP activities, security, and other related election issues.

He said, teams are already working on the ground to keep check on election campaigning in relation to expenditure monitoring of all political parties and candidates of the constituency, and all arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of elections in a free and fair manner.

Nodal Officer, Expenditure Monitoring also briefed about the expenditure monitoring system in place and position of expenditure booking party wise.

Expenditure Observer, on the occasion asked for making an orientation programme for independent candidates on expenditure booking for campaigning.

Later, the Observer visited the Strong Room also.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; AROs, Nodal Officers and other concerned teams of expenditure monitoring.
