GCOE Jammu declared Tobacco Free Campus

JAMMU: The College administration has declared Government College of Education as Tobacco Free Campus after organizing a series of awareness events.  

The NCORD committee along with IIC of GCOE, Jammu organized a series of events on “No use of Tobacco and its products” under the aegis of National Tobacco control program and declared the campus as Tobacco free zone, the College Management said today.

The events organised included pledge on “Not to Consume Tobacco and its Products”, an awareness rally and installation of signage boards in the college premises.

About 50 students and 20 staff members participated in all the events with great zeal and enthusiasm under the patronage of Dr. Jyoti Parihar who sensitized the students about the harmful effects of Tobacco.

These events were organized under the overall guidance of Prof. Sunanda Rani, Convenor, IIC and NCORD committee along with NCORD committee members Prof. Roopa Kumari, Prof. Kiran Thapa and Dr. Shalini Sharma.
