RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting today in the VV Room of the DC Office to review the preparedness for the celebration of International Yoga Day in the district.
The DC took a detailed review of arrangements being made at key venues in the subdivisions of Thanamandi, Rajouri, Kotranka, Nowshera, and Sunderbani. The focus of the meeting was to ensure that all necessary measures are in place for the smooth conduct of the yoga events, which will witness participation from people across different walks of life.
Key aspects discussed during the meeting included security deployment at the venues, photography and videography of the event, availability of drinking water, fire and emergency services, deployment of ambulances, provision of ORS and refreshments for participants, and post-event cleanliness.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the celebrations should reflect the spirit and significance of International Yoga Day. He directed the officers to ensure the installation of hoardings and banners at prominent locations to raise awareness and encourage participation.
He also stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to make the event a grand success. He instructed officers of stakeholder departments to be present at the designated venues to oversee arrangements.
