BUDGAM: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, as part of the district administration's preparedness efforts in view of the ensuing Muharram-ul-Haram, various officers of district Budgam today visited Shia inhabited areas to take spot appraisal of arrangements for smooth conduct of processions and other related events.
In this connection, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Mehraj-Ud-Din Shah conducted a detailed inspection of various Shia-dominated areas in the district to ensure timely and comprehensive arrangements for the peaceful observance of the sacred month.
During the visit, ADC inspected Imambara Mirgund, Imambara Mahwarah, Imambara Ichgam, and various inner link roads in the Ichgam area. The inspection focused on assessing the availability and condition of essential public services and infrastructure in view of upcoming religious gatherings and processions.
ADC interacted with local residents, community elders, and representatives of religious organizations to gather inputs on necessary improvements. He directed the concerned departments to immediately address issues related to road repairs, sanitation, water and power supply, and availability of essential commodities.
He emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination and proactive execution of all preparatory works within the stipulated timeline to ensure a hassle-free and respectful observance of Muharram.
Similarly, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Beerwah conducted extensive visit to various Shia localities in Tehsil Beerwah.
SDM inspected Imambaras at Sonpah and Iskenderpora villages to assess on-ground preparedness and interact with locals regarding their requirements for the upcoming religious observances.
During the visit, SDM held discussions with community representatives and members of the public to understand their concerns and demands pertaining to essential services such as electricity, water supply, sanitation, ration distribution, and road connectivity.
He instructed all concerned departments to ensure timely action and coordinated efforts for fulfilling public needs ahead of Muharram.
He emphasized that the administration is committed to extending all necessary support to the Shia community and ensuring a respectful and well-managed environment throughout the month.
Also, Tehsildar B.K. Pora conducted an extensive visit to various Shia-dominated areas including Imambara Rakhshalina, Shalina, Summerbugh, Rakh-i-Suthu, and Kenihama to review the arrangements ahead of the holy month of Muharram.
He interacted with local residents and religious representatives to gather feedback and assess the requirements on the ground. Public was assured of the administration's commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply, adequate ration distribution, sanitation, and necessary infrastructure repairs well before the commencement of Muharram.
Tehsildar instructed the concerned departments to remain proactive and submit specific action plans for their respective responsibilities. She emphasized that all arrangements should be completed in a time-bound manner and coordination among departments should be seamless to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of Muharram processions and gatherings. |
