JAMMU: In a firm action against drug trafficking, Jammu Police has booked a habitual drug peddler under the PIT-NDPS Act in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah, Sub-Division R.S. Pura.
The individual has been lodged in District Jail Udhampur following formal detention orders from the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
The accused, Shoket Ali S/O Hassan Mir R/O Sakinderpur Kothy, Bishnah, has a history of involvement in drug-related activities and multiple FIRs under NDPS Act were already registered against him. Despite previous arrests, he continued unlawful activities.
To prevent further offenses, a dossier under PIT-NDPS Act was prepared and approved by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. The accused was taken into preventive custody by a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah, under the close supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.
