Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions commence across Kishtwar under the aegis of DYSSO

KISHTWAR: The Department of Youth Services & Sports Kishtwar today commenced the Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions for U/19 Boys and Girls across multiple zones of the district.

The grand initiative is being held under the overall guidance of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jaffer Haider Sheikh, who continues to promote youth engagement and holistic development through sports.

The competitions are being organized across different zones, each supervised by the respective Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs) and supported by a team of committed sports staff.

Zone Drabshalla hosted events in Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Tug of War for both U/19 Boys and Girls. The activities were conducted in a spirited atmosphere under the supervision of the local ZPEO, witnessing enthusiastic participation from various schools.

Zone Kishtwar organized Chess and Badminton competitions for U/19 Boys and Girls efficiently by a dedicated team of DYSS led by the ZPEO. The event witnessed disciplined contests and strong strategic performances.

The Zone Nagseni hosted contests in Chess, Table Tennis, and Badminton under the guidance of the local ZPEO, ensuring fair play and active involvement of students across institutions.

This sports initiative aims to foster physical fitness, mental agility, teamwork and healthy competition among students, while identifying and nurturing talent at the grassroots level. The Department remains committed to providing youth with platforms that not only promote sportsmanship but also contribute to their overall character development.

The zonal events will pave the way for upcoming inter-zonal and district-level competitions, giving deserving young athletes the opportunity to represent Kishtwar at higher levels.
