UDHAMPUR: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering local artisans and weavers, the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Development and Facilitation Office, Jammu, in collaboration with the District Administration Udhampur and the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Jammu, organized a one-day seminar-cum-awareness programme on the procurement and marketing support scheme.
The event was held in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
The programme was attended by Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, General Manager DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, Assistant Directors (IEDS) Rajesh Kumar and Devender Kumar Tyagi, Assistant Director (Handloom) Ujwal Sambyal, and Assistant Director (Handicrafts) Subash Chander Sharma.
The MSME-DFO team delivered an informative PowerPoint presentation outlining various government schemes available to artisans and micro-entrepreneurs.
Assistant Directors emphasized that the primary goal of the seminar was to educate and empower artisans by connecting them with key welfare programmes and support mechanisms.
Officers from MSME, DIC, Handicrafts and Handloom departments shared valuable insights on modern production techniques, marketing strategies, and business development opportunities.
They encouraged artisans and weavers to take full advantage of the schemes offered and assured them of complete institutional support.
Participants were also urged to register with the concerned departments to ensure maximum benefit from the available schemes. The CPO lauded the efforts of the Handicrafts & Handloom Department and MSME-DFO for organizing the event and spreading awareness about the resources and opportunities accessible to the artisan community. |
