Batra Groups Girls Football League gets underway

JAMMU: Batra group organised ‘Girls Football League' to lay out the encouragement and sportsmanship among the girls of Jammu and take active participation in the games like football, which is lacking with the interest of girls in Jammu.

The Inaugural event of two day League was held at Birla Open Minds, School, Channi Himmat, Jammu. As youth of Jammu has again got busy with their usual hectic life, it had become important for them to look ahead to their health, not only for the physical self but for mind too.

So, to showcase football not just a sport but a career option too, Batra Group organised this Girls Football League Aug'22 Season 1.

The event was organised in the afternoon where all the Teams along with organisers welcomed the Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa, to unveil the Winner's Trophy- A beautiful & glittering 4ft Cup.

Captains of JK Public School-Kunjwani, G.D. Goenka Jammu, Jammu Sanskriti School, and Birla Open Minds in their respective Jersey introduced their team to the Chief Guest.

Avny Lavasa interacted with all girls of the school teams and expressed her happiness to see such efforts. She encouraged all the teams and also guided them on importance of fitness in various sports. She spoke of both "Beti Padhao, Beti Bacho" & "Khelo India" initiatives and how this League was a perfect amalgamation of both. The young players & audience found a perfect role model in the Chief Guest.

Bhisham Batra, President Pegasus Football Club while speaking on the occasion said that such events will imbibe a sense of sportsmanship in young girls and they will win medals for India in future.

The two day event is being presented by the BATRA Group and Pegasus Football Club, supported by Chander Bhaga Advertising Agency, Birla Open Minds School, ASCOMS Artemis Heart Centre.
