JAMMU: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu celebrated 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervour at main campus here.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM hoisted the National Flag and took the salute at the ceremonial march past by the security men of the institute and the students of RRL High School. Large number of scientists, technical & admin. staff and scholars from CSIR-IIIM, staff & students of Regional Research Laboratory High School and the members of civil society attended the Independence Day celebration.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed in his address extended warm greetings to the audience on the 77th Independence Day and recalled the supreme sacrifices of the national heroes who laid down their lives for the country.
“Today our great leaders gave us the opportunity to live an independent, peaceful and dignified life. Now it becomes our utmost duty to make the country super strong in all the fields globally,” he said. It is the fruit of supreme sacrifices of our ancestors that our nation became free and the largest democracy in the world.
"This day inspires us to take our country to new heights of development and prosperity for which patriotism, sacrifice and tireless efforts are essential. And because of these qualities, our great leaders sacrificed their day for our tomorrow and gave us a chance to breathe in a free and prosperous country.
Therefore, this auspicious day is a symbol of the fulfillment of their dreams which would be the real tribute to these great Indian leaders, he added Later, the children of Regional Research Laboratory High School presented a colourful cultural programme which mesmerized the audiences.
On the occasion, Director CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, felicitated the meritorious students of the school. Er. Abdul Rahim, Chief Scientist & Head RMBD & IST, Vikram Singh, Sr, CoA, HoDs of various divisions and Principal, RRL High School were prominent among others who attended the Independence Day celebrations.
