GCW Udhampur hosts Nukkad Natak, conducts cleanliness drive

UDHAMPUR:  As part of fortnightly activities under Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, NSS unit and Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) Club of GCW Udhampur in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India organized a Nukkad Natak and a cleanliness drive at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Udhampur to raise awareness on Swachhta among general masses.

The objective of organizing the Nukkad Natak and cleanliness drive was to spread awareness on the importance of cleanliness in the neighbourhood, streets and public spaces among the general masses/public.

About 50 volunteers participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive and Nukkad Natak. They collected and segregated biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and disposed of the same in prescribed manner.

Volunteers who presented the Nukkad Natak on the said theme received a lot of applause from the audience.

As a result of motivation induced during the Nukkad Naatak, a number of small children and local visitors also participated actively in the cleanliness drive.
