Mission Shakti SWD, CRC Jammu join hands to celebrate National Girl Child Day with Specially Abled Children

JAMMU: Mission Shakti Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu, organized a heartwarming and vibrant celebration to mark National Girl Child Day, focusing on empowering specially-abled girls.

The event not only highlighted the talents and achievements of these young girls but also underscored the values of inclusivity, empowerment, and gender equity.

The program was thoughtfully designed to celebrate the abilities and dreams of specially-abled children. Alongside plantation, a signature campaign, cultural performances and speeches, the Mission Shakti, under its BBBP initiative, distributed school bags, Tiffins and water bottles to the children as a gesture of encouragement and support for their educational journey.

The children enthusiastically presented cultural items, recited poetry and displayed their craft items .The parents of the children also attended the event, lending their wholehearted support and admiration.

Speaking on the occasion, District Mission Coordinator Shagun Manchanda stressed the importance of such initiatives in fostering confidence among these girls and reaffirmed Mission Shakti's unwavering commitment to advocating for their rights and education. She acknowledged the incredible synergy between Mission Shakti and CRC Jammu, which made this celebration exceptional.

Adding her perspective, Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC, commended the event for being a beautiful showcase of strength, potential, and the indomitable spirit of these young girls. She highlighted the need for continued efforts to ensure that every specially-abled child gets an equal opportunity to succeed.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Akhnoor Subhankar Pathak was the Chief Guest. In his address, he applauded Mission Shakti's proactive efforts under the SANKALP initiative for improving the socio-economic conditions of women and children, particularly in underrepresented groups. He emphasized the transformative potential of empowering one girl and its ripple effect across future generations.

Officials from Mission Shakti's SANKALP wing, representatives from CRC Jammu, and families of the children celebrated the occasion together, marking a milestone of unity and collaboration. The presence of parents further reinforced the message that true empowerment begins with family and community support.

This celebration was yet another testament to Mission Shakti's resolve in championing the rights of the girl child. By focusing on these children, the event sent a powerful message of inclusion, equity, and encouragement.
