RAJOURI: In a significant step towards fostering a safe and inclusive work environment, Government Degree College, Sunderbani has implemented a robust mechanism to prevent sexual harassment of women at the workplace, in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.

As part of this initiative, the institution has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address grievances related to sexual harassment.

The committee comprises representatives from faculty, staff, and an external expert to ensure impartiality and transparency.

To raise awareness and sensitize employees and students, the institution conducted a workshop today, where the counselors educated attendees on the rights and responsibilities under the law.

Regular training sessions, posters, and an open-door policy have been introduced to encourage reporting and ensure a zero-tolerance approach towards misconduct.

The college is committed to implementing strict measures that empower women and ensure a harassment-free environment for all.

This step aims to reinforce equality and dignity at the workplace. The Institution has urged all staff and students to actively participate in upholding these values and to report any incidents through the designated channels. Together, we can create a culture of mutual respect and safety.
