POONCH: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of the District Co-operative Development Committee here, at the Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting aimed to address key issues and initiatives related to Co-operative development and agricultural practices.
The DDC enquired agenda-wise details regarding Cooperative development like the adoption of the calendar of activities for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, Food Processing schemes for Cooperative societies, Pilot projects under the world's largest grain storage plan in the cooperative sector, Computerization of Primary Agricultural credit societies (PACS), adoption of Model Bye-Laws, Development of National Database, registration of dairy PACS and fisheries in uncovered areas.
The meeting planned a range of activities and awareness programs for farmers and strengthening Cooperative Infrastructure across the district.
Emphasis was laid on promoting Co-operative societies and supporting farmers' producer organizations to enhance agriculture production.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to expedite all cooperative development initiatives and ensure seamless coordination among departments for the effective implementation of cooperative schemes.
The meeting was attended by ACR Poonch, ACP, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society Poonch, CAO, CAHO, Chief inspector F&CS, AD Fisheries, District Lead Bank Manager, AD Handloom besides other Officers and representatives from the agricultural sector, members of the District Co-operative Development Committee and Farmers Producer Organization. |
