SAMBA: Samba witnessed a remarkable event organized by the Municipal Council, under the banner of Indian Swachhta League 2.0.
Hosted by the MC Samba, the event drew active participation from different segments of the community, including local citizens, school students, ward members, and key figures such as DC Samba, EO Samba, and Chairman MC Samba.
The event began with a ploging drive and marathon, spanning from the historic Samba Fort to the Veer Bhumi Park. Beyond being a fitness endeavor, this activity emphasized the importance of a clean environment by encouraging participants to pick up litter along the way.
Upon reaching Veer Bhumi Park, the focus shifted to a sanitation drive. Volunteers from all walks of life, including the IEC team, joined hands to clean and enhance the park's aesthetics, making it a more inviting space for everyone.
Speaking on the Occasion, DC Samba urged the citizens to segregate waste, avoid open dumping, and actively cooperate with the Municipal Council Samba in their cleanliness initiatives.
The event continued with cultural performances, including a Nukkad Natak, all centered around the theme of Swachhta (cleanliness) and the importance of reducing single-use plastics. These performances conveyed a powerful message about maintaining clean surroundings.
One of the key highlights of the event was the collective pledge taken by all participants, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner Samba and contributing to the larger vision of a Swachh Bharat (Clean India). |
