ANANTNAG: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. SF Hamid accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag and senior officers of District Administration visited Logripora Aishmuqam on the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami where they participated in the festivities.

During the celebrations, the DC emphasized the significance of Mela Kheer Bhawani in the composite culture and ethos of Jammu and Kashmir. He prayed for peace and progress.

The SSP on the occasion praised the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting cultural diversity as an element of brotherhood and synergetic culture in Jammu and Kashmir.

Notably, Jyeshtha Ashtami is the annual festival popularly known as Mela Kheer Bhawani and is celebrated by devotees from across various faiths.
