DC Bandipora reviews progress of Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Saturday chaired a meeting at Mini Secretariat to review the progress of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in the district.

During the meeting, Project Coordinator NTPC briefed the DC on the comprehensive scope of work encompassed by RDSS. This includes the construction of new 11 KV lines, installation of Distribution Transformers, and the necessary reconducting of 11 KV infrastructures.

It was given out that the project plans to install 7870 steel tubular poles, 432 Distribution Transformers, 644 LT AB Cables, 612 ACSR Conductors, and 114 HT AB Cables across various parts of Bandipora.

The DC was apprised that, currently, implementation efforts are focused on 13 feeders in Bandipora Division and 31 feeders in Sumbal Division.

Recognizing the urgency of timely project completion, the DC urged all concerned parties to expedite the ongoing works sanctioned under RDSS. He emphasized the need to complete all works before the onset of winter to achieve the scheme's objectives for enhancing the overall power scenario in the district.

Furthermore, the DC emphasized the implementation of strategic reform measures aimed at optimizing the operational efficiency of the power department.

He stressed streamlining administrative processes to reduce delays besides emphasizing enhancing coordination between stakeholders involved in project execution.

He asked the executing agency to ensure adherence to quality standards in all construction and installation activities to significantly enhance the power infrastructure and reliability in Bandipora District.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, CPO Mohammad Maqbool, ExEn PDD, Project Coordinator RDSS Kashmir, NTPC Project Manager Bandipora, NTPC Director (Projects) M&Co TKC for RDSS Bandipora and other concerned.
