UDHAMPUR: In the second leg of the fifth week of the ongoing 100-day special awareness drive under Mission Shakti, an awareness camp cum enrollment drive was conducted by Sankalp: Hub for Empowerment of Women Department of Social Welfare Udhampur at AWC Megani Panchayat Sansoo.

The event aimed to educate the public about various women-centric schemes in District Udhampur, including the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, Direct Benefit Transfer, and Aadhar authentication. The program also aimed to motivate women to enroll in the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and take advantage of its benefits.

The entire program was organized under the able guidance of Saloni Rai Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta.

During the event, District Mission Coordinator HEW, Jyoti Pathania provided insights into Mission Shakti schemes such as Childline (1098), Women Helpline (181), and One Stop Centers. Participants received comprehensive information about women-centric schemes and their documentation requirements. Pathania encouraged women to pursue self-employment for a brighter future for themselves and their families.

The program concluded with a plantation drive organized by the District Social Welfare Department, during which six plants were planted by the HEW team in the name of newborn babies under the BBBP banner.

Approximately 80 participants, including HEW staff, supervisors of the Poshan project, Anganwadi workers, helpers, and local women, benefited from the awareness program.
