KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer (DEO), Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today convened a meeting with representatives of political parties at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.

The meeting was aimed to sensitize political parties about the rules and regulations governing the election, ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.

During the meeting, a detailed orientation was given regarding the election process.

The DEO stressed the importance of strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and urged political parties to comply with the guidelines established by the ECI.

He also requested them to apply online for permissions through the Suvidha Candidates app and reach out to the 24x7 Control Room with any grievances through the toll-free number 1950.

SSP, Sahil Sarangal also briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place to conduct the elections peacefully in the district.

The DC and SSP assured absolutely free and fair elections in the district.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to uphold democratic values and ensure a smooth conduct of the upcoming election.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal; ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; ADC, Viqar Ahmad Giri; A-SP, ROs from all three Assembly Constituencies, AROs, and other concerned officers.
