ANANTNAG: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul on Saturday emphasized upon party candidates and leaders to give tough fight to rivals in the upcoming assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir.
He at the occasion stressed upon the unity among candidates and party leaders, and directed them to focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
The BJP leader expressed these remarks while chairing an election review meeting with BJP candidates Rafiq Wani, Sofi Yousuf, Javid Qadri, Veer Saraf, Arshad Bhat, Showkat Gayoor, Adv Wajahat, Choudhary Roshan and Ashok Bhat in south Kashmir's Anantnag.
During the meeting, Koul addressed the candidates and senior leaders, and District Presidents including Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, Altaf Thakur, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, Mudasir Wani and others; and emphasized the importance of unity among candidates and party leaders to ensure a strong fight in the upcoming 2024 assembly elections.
He urged the party leaders and workers to focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
Expressing confidence during the review meeting, Koul stated that the BJP is poised to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the meeting, the party appointed Altaf Thakur as Convenor of the Assembly Election Management Committee 2024 for south Kashmir.
Dr Darakshan Andrabi has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the election campaign and planning, while as Charanjeet Singh Khalsa will monitor the election campaign and other management tasks.
