ANANTNAG: A mega Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) event was organized today at Kokernag Garden to raise awareness about the importance of voting, especially among first-time voters, women, and differently-abled individuals.
The event's highlight was a captivating performance by a renowned Jammu-based dramatic theatre group, which presented a Nukkad Natak (street play) that creatively conveyed the message of voter participation, democratic rights, and the power of every vote.
The Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign in Anantnag District is witnessing tremendous enthusiasm and active participation from the local communities.
Under the guidance of the District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag SF Hamid, a series of initiatives aimed at increasing voter awareness and engagement have been rolled out across the district, reaching even the most remote villages in various Assembly Constituencies.
To ensure that no voter is left behind the massive campaigns have been launched across various villages and towns.
The SVEEP campaign aims to focus on first time voters, low turnout areas, young voters, special groups such as women and tribals etc.
Additionally, in addition to the street play, interactive sessions, voter awareness rallies, plantation drives, quiz competition and pledge-taking ceremonies were held. |
