RAJOURI: Security forces have launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) following a suspicious movement in Rajouri, reports said.

The movement was witnessed at Manial Gali under Thanamandi police station.

The hilly districts of Rajouri and Poonch along the Pir Panjal range and several other districts of Jammu including, Udhampur and Kathua have seen a spate of attacks on the security forces in recent months.

The J&K police chief DGP Swain assess that around 100 foreign terrorists have infiltrated to this side of border.

On Saturday, a Head Constable of police was martyred while a DySP and an Assistant Sub-Inspector were injured in a gunfight in Kathua.

The attack comes days before the last phase of the ongoing assembly elections in the region held after a decade. Jammu is going to polls in the last phase.
