Career guidance program on Civil Services held at Womens College Anantnag

ANANTNAG: Govt Degree College for Women Anantnag hosted a career guidance program titled "Civil Services as a Career and its Dynamics" in the college auditorium today.

The event, organized by the Debates and Seminars Committee in collaboration with the Career Counseling Cell, aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the opportunities and challenges of pursuing a career in civil services.

The program was held under the esteemed patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik.

In his address, Principal emphasized the crucial role of civil services in nation-building and the importance of youth in shaping the future of the country.

He appreciated the efforts of the Debates & Seminars Committee and the Career Counseling Cell for organizing such programs that inspire students and guide them in making informed career choices.

The event featured three distinguished officers from the 2023 batch including Swathi (IAS), Tarun Patnaik (IAS), and Saurabh Narendra (IPS).

The officers shared their personal journeys and offered valuable insights into the civil services examination process, preparation strategies, and the dynamics of working in the civil services.

Swathi highlighted the importance of time management, effective resource utilization, and the role of women in civil services.

She stressed that increasing female representation in civil services would contribute to the upliftment of women and address their concerns more effectively.

Tarun Patnaik spoke at length about overcoming obstacles, maintaining motivation, and the significance of discipline.

He emphasized that consistent performance and persistence were key to achieving success in civil services.

Saurabh Narendra, the IPS officer, discussed the importance of choosing civil services as a career for those passionate about serving the nation.

He outlined the essential role civil servants play in implementing government policies, delivering public services, and maintaining the rule of law.

The event also saw active participation from students, who engaged with the speakers in discussions about exam preparation, choosing an optional subject, and maintaining a work-life balance.

The officers shared inspiring anecdotes from their own experiences, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.

The event was moderated by Prof. Farooq Ahmad Malik, Convenor of the Debates and Seminars Committee, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sheikh Touseef, Head of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry.

The speakers were felicitated with mementos by the Principal in recognition of their valuable contributions.

The program was attended by a large number of students and faculty members, making it a highly successful and informative event.
