JAMMU: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre, celebrated the vibrant festival of Lohri with great zeal and enthusiasm at Institutional Complex, Channi Himmat, Jammu.
The event witnessed active participation from members, making it a memorable occasion.
The celebration began with a traditional bonfire, symbolizing the essence of Lohri and the joy of harvest. Members gathered around the bonfire.
Er Anil Verma, FIE, Chairman, Jammu Local Centre highlighted the importance of celebrating cultural festivals to foster unity and strengthen social bonds. He emphasized the significance of Lohri as a festival that marks the end of winter and the onset of longer days, bringing prosperity and happiness to all.
Traditional snacks like peanuts, popcorn and sweets were distributed among the attendees, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. The event concluded with a Vote of thanks by Er Avneet Gupta, MIE, Honorary Secretary Jammu Local Centre expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their efforts in making the celebration a grand success.
