ANANTNAG: The Anantnag-Sinthan-Kishtwar road (NH244) via Sinthan Pass has been closed for traffic due to ongoing snowfall and adverse weather predictions, officials said.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag said that the road closure decision was taken to ensure public safety. "Due to continuous snowfall in Sinthan Pass and bad weather predictions by the MeT department, traffic movement on the Anantnag-Sinthan-Kishtwar road will remain suspended until further orders," he said.

Snow clearance operations will begin once the weather conditions improve. Travelers are advised to avoid the route and seek alternate arrangements. The administration has urged residents to stay updated with official advisories for their safety.
