UDHAMPUR: As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai and under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta, a one day training program for master volunteers under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organised in district Udhampur.

During the programme, resource person Pallavi Singh, Program Director SCLA, educated the participants regarding the menace of drug abuse and their role and responsibilities as Master Volunteers.

Resource person Rohit educated the participants about the concept of counselling and various tools to be used to counsel a drug addict and their family as well as friends. He also narrated various techniques on how to keep patients motivated to complete their rehabilitation cycles. He stressed how De-addiction counselling helps individuals in managing cravings and overcome the perils of life stressors without taking on drugs or alcohol.

The event also included the distribution of certificates to Master Volunteers of District Udhampur under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Later, the Vote of thanks was delivered by District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta. She expressed his gratitude to the resource persons and all the participants for making the event a success.
