Awareness workshop on PMFME scheme held at Makerkote

RAMBAN: The Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, in coordination with the District Administration Ramban, organized a one-day awareness workshop on the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme at Makerkote - Ramsoo, today.

The workshop was held to spread awareness among farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Cooperatives, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and unemployed youth about the benefits of the PMFME scheme.

Area Marketing Officer Tehsin Chib along with officers from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry departments, representatives from NRLM, AGMO Batote Raju Zutshi, GMI Inderjit Singh attended the event.

Officers explained that the PMFME scheme supports food processing businesses by offering financial help, training and support for branding and marketing. "The beneficiaries are offered 35% subsidy, support for preparing the project report, getting bank loans and completing required registrations such as FSSAI and Udyam" the participants were informed.

The AMO encouraged participants to avail the scheme and contribute to the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. The workshop ended with an interactive session where experts responded to the queries of the participants clearing their doubts on different aspects.
