ANANTNAG: In accordance to the calendar of activities issued by the J&K State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in collaboration with the district administration Anantnag and the department of Social Welfare today observed the ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking' at Town hall Anantnag.

The event was held under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Anantnag, Fouzia Paul.

During the programme, the importance of ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking' was highlighted as a global reminder to raise awareness, promote preventive measures and strengthen cooperation among nations to curb drug abuse and trafficking.

The programme was attended by the District Development Officer, officials of the Social Welfare department, officials J&K Excise Department, officials of Education Department, Doctors from Health department, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, students and PLVs.

Resource persons from the DLSA Anantnag, namely Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, Deputy LADC and Danish Qadir, Assistant LADC Anantnag, highlighted the various legal provisions, which deal with drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
