Food Safety Anantnag bans sale of 04 nutraceuticals/ health supplements

Urges consumers to refrain from purchasing banned supplements till further orders

ANANTNAG: In significant step aimed at safeguarding the health of consumers, Food Safety Anantnag has put an immediate ban on sale of four nutraceuticals/health supplements including, Lycobax, Zymerio B+, BECOSIP-EZ and Festzyme Plus after their samples were found to be of unsafe quality.

In an official handout issued here, it has been informed that the Assistant Commissioner/Designated Officer Food Safety Anantnag has immediately prohibited the sale of the four nutraceuticals/health supplements namely ‘Lycobax' (Batch No. FL241206; Manufactured by Indo Rama Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. (Yamunanagar, Haryana) and marketed by Solace Biotech Limited (Ambala, Haryana), ); ‘Zymerio B+' (B. No. 3028; Manufactured by M/S: Exotic Healthcare Mohali, (Pb) Marketed by M/S: Riomedica Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. 654 Ambala Cantt. Haryana); ‘BECOSIP-EZ' (B. No. PL24115 Manufactured by M/S: Phaedrus Life Science Pvt. Ltd.,3012, Phase-IV, G.I.D.C., Vatva, Gujarat (India) and ‘Festzyme Plus' (B.No. EHL-1928; Mfd by M/S: Exotic Healthcare, Mohali, Punjab and Marketed by M/S: Estocott Pharma Pvt. Ltd., Sirmour -173030 (HP) in the district.

The samples of these health supplements were procured by the Food Safety Officers of the district Anantnag and were found to be of unsafe quality by the National Food Laboratory in Ghaziabad on account of the saccharine levels exceeding the prescribed limits.

Meanwhile, consumers are urged to refrain from purchasing the health supplements under question till further orders.
