Induction Training for newly placed Headmasters of Jammu Division concludes

JAMMU: A three day Induction Training Programme for 282 newly placed Headmasters of Jammu Division concluded today at Government Polytechnic College, Jammu.

The programme, held from 2nd to 4th July 2025, was organized by the School Leadership Academy of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) J&K, Jammu in collaboration with DIET Jammu, aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The training focused on leadership, pedagogy, inclusivity and school governance, aiming to build a cadre of empowered school leaders to drive educational transformation at the grassroots level.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education (ACS) and Director, SCERT, Shantmanu.

During his address, Shantmanu congratulated the newly promoted HOIs and applauded their leadership journey. He emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, inclusive practices and community engagement in shaping the future of school education. He urged them to be visionary and proactive in implementing NEP 2020 reforms.

Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division, Professor Sindhu Kapoor reiterated SCERT Jammu's unwavering commitment towards empowering both the teachers and Heads of Institutions to ensure equitable and quality education.

Joint Director Central, JKSCERT, Shailesh Kumari, while addressing the gathering stressed on fostering inclusive, accountable and context-sensitive school ecosystems.

The three day program featured insightful and engaging sessions from eminent educationists and experts on diverse and critical topics. These included thought provoking session on pedagogical leadership by Dr. J N Baliya, motivational strategies by Colonel Arun Gupta, visionary leadership by Dr. Atul Hans, fostering positive school culture by Dr. Rajinder Kour and practical orientation on the GeM Portal by Dheeraj Jandyal.

A short documentary capturing the highlights and significant moments of the program was also screened.

The participants shared their reflections, expressing appreciation for the enriching learning experience and the engaging, interactive sessions throughout the training.

Later, memento was presented to the ACS as a mark of respect.

The ACS distributed certificates among all the participants, resource persons, Chairpersons and members of the organizing team.
