Scintillating Folk Performances Enthrall Audience on Day 2 of Dogri Theatre Competition

JAMMU: Remarkable and praiseworthy performances were held at Abhinav Theatre on the second day of 3 Days Dogri Theatre Festival Competition held by Samooh Theatre, which was supported by Senior Citizens Support Services Club.

First performance was held by The Creativity Crew namely ‘Pension' under the direction of dedicated theatrist and director Usha Slathia.

The play has been written by Padam Shri Mohan Singh and the story revolves around how to use pension which will be brought by a retired old member of the family.

The play is enriched by the beautiful use of idioms and phrases in Dogri language and it was equally played by Usha Slathia, Ravi Kant Sharma, Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Meenu Slathia, Vikas Sharma, Preeti Rajput, Ajit Singh and Sunita Attri.

The second play was presented by Nav Durga Kala Manch namely ‘Saas Puran' under the direction of Shashi Bhushan. The play revolves around a family story. The well-paced comedy with a few fade-outs, came out to be an entertaining affair for the audience.

Artists who performed in the play were Ridhima Kalsi, Deepak Singh, Neha Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Samar Pratap Singh, Vaibhav Sagoch, Ajay Baba, Purbhi Kalsi, Rakesh Dogra, Sheetal Kalotra and Abdul Jung Bahadur Khan.

Rahul Sahai, Chairman, Indian Chamber of Commerce lauded the performances today which were witnessed by the jam-packed hall of Abhinav Theatre.

He praised the initiative taken by Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta, Chairman, Senior Citizens Support Service Club and Sudhir Mahajan, President, Samooh Theatre to spread Dogri language through theatre.

Well known personalities from different fields of Jammu were present during the occasion.

Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, a reputed theatrist organized the function.

Dr. Vijay Sharma, General Secretary, Senior Citizens Support Services club, gave a vote of thanks.
