REASI: A Bangladeshi national was apprehended for allegedly entering Indian territory without valid travel documents from Katra in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, police said on Saturday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ahmed entered Indian through unauthorised means, violating immigration laws, the police said.

An FIR was filed under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act at the Katra Police Station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind his illegal entry and possible links, the spokesman added.

Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Paramvir Singh, praised the team for their swift action and emphasised the police's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, urging them to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police unit.
