210 orphaned children receive support under Mission Vatsalya in Poonch

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today distributed sponsorship cheques to 210 orphaned children under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme aimed at supporting their education, nutrition and well-being.

A total amount of ₹44.88 lakh was disbursed among the beneficiaries. Each child is entitled to monthly assistance of ₹4,000 provided until the age of 18 or for a maximum of 36 months whichever is earlier.

The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch Tahir Mustafa Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd. Sayeed, District Child Protection Officer Khalil Ahmed Banday, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Rohit Khajuria and other concerned officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration's commitment to safeguarding the future of vulnerable children. He encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the support effectively for their educational and nutritional needs.

District Child Protection Officer Khalil Ahmed Banday highlighted the objectives of the scheme and urged eligible families to come forward to avail the benefits.
