KULGAM: In order to educate participants on drug menace, an awareness programme cum debate and painting competition on drug abuse was today held at Rest House Chawalgam Kulgam.
The event, held pursuant to the directions of Chairperson DLSA Kulgam, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, was organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam in collaboration with The Noble Helping Hands NGO.
Students from different educational institutions (Private and Government) ensured their participation in the mega competition, besides faculty members from as many as 12 educational institutes functioning/ working within district Kulgam also attended the event.
During the programme, brilliant speakers and painters through their oratorship and paintings beautifully put across a message for drug eradication respectively.
Secretary DLSA Kulgam, Fozia Paul supervised the programme, which was moderated by LADCs.
The event featured a vibrant array of activities, beginning with a thought-provoking debate where students showcased their public speaking abilities and knowledge of the impact of drug abuse on society. Participants engaged in a spirited exchange of ideas, emphasizing the need for awareness, prevention, and community involvement.
The painting competition allowed students to express their interpretations of the theme of drug abuse through their artwork. The creative pieces represented emotional perspectives and powerful messages aimed at promoting drug awareness and prevention among their peers.
Winners of both competitions were recognized for their exemplary performances, receiving prizes. Furthermore, all participants were awarded with appreciation certificates, honoring their commitment and effort in addressing such a significant issue within their communities. The event aimed not only to recognize talent but also to foster a collective sense of responsibility towards the fight against drug abuse.
The event served as a reminder of the vital role that education and community engagement play in combating drug abuse. The event ended with the slogan: No to Drugs, yes to Education. |
