REASI: The District Development Commissioner Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U 2.0) and verify new cases.

After thorough scrutiny, a total of nine cases were approved, including five from Reasi and four from Katra. The DDC emphasized the need for intensifying IEC activities to generate greater public awareness and increase the number of applications under the scheme.

She directed the Executive Officers of the Municipal Committees to proactively promote the scheme in their respective areas and ensure no eligible beneficiary is left behind.

The DDC instructed that the cases rejected under PMAY-U by the EO Reasi should be re-evaluated and forwarded to the Block Development Officer Reasi for consideration under PMAY-G, wherever applicable. She stressed that all eligible beneficiaries must be covered under the appropriate component of the housing mission to ensure inclusive development.
