NSS Annual special winter camp inaugurated in GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: "NSS Annual Winter Special Camp" was today inaugurated at Government College for Women, Udhampur.
The camp will be held from December 28, 2022 to Jan 1, 2023 and only 50% of the total capacity will be allowed to attend the camp as per the Covid SOPs.
At the outset, the Chief Guest Padma Shri Prof. Shiv Nirmohi was welcomed by Prof. Sanjay Kumar, alongwith the senior most faculty member Prof. Seema Sharma and other stakeholders.
The Chief Guest interacted with the students and advised them to be aware of good reading which is ultimately beneficial for our life and lifestyle. He appealed to students to learn, think and deliver in our mother tongue so as to actualize our potential to the fullest. Speaking further, he stressed on striking a balance between our psycho-physical health so as to make our living meaningful. A significant emphasis was laid on the role of the environment in our life and liberation.
Earlier, the keynote address was presented by Prof. Sanjay Kumar, NSS Program Officer. He highlighted the activities which are generally carried out in an NSS Annual Winter Special Camp and laid stress on the activities to be carried out in this camp.
The theme of the camp is "Living for Environment: LIFE" which will focus on the consumerism which is conscious of environment and right of future generation.
Later, Dr. Mool Raj former NSS Program Officer presented the origin and relevance of NSS as a moment of historical development for community engagement. He also highlighted the idea of service to be adopted as our way of life to render this world a better place to live.
Among others who graced the occasion by their preserve were Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Mool Raj, Dr. Arun Gupta and Prof. Yash Paul. Earlier, the programme began with the lighting of traditional lamp and floral welcome of the Chief Guest Padamshri. Prof. Shiv Nirmohi.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Sumita Rao, NSS Program Officer, GCW Udhampur.
