MAM College organizes awareness session on 'Drugs and its ill effects on physical and mental health'

JAMMU: NCC Unit Army and Naval wing in collaboration with NSS, NSS-SFU of the MAM College organise a session on "Drugs and its ill effects on physical and mental health" under the flagship program of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan'.

Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.

Dr. Rakesh Banal, a senior psychiatrist, GMC Jammu was the resource person for today's session.Dr. Rakesh Banal explained various kind of substance abuse such as alcohol, opioids, cannabinoids, cocaine, tobacco, sedatives, inhalants ands it's medical complications.

He also highlighted the different risk factors for addiction and treatment approach for drug addictior.

Prof Neeraj Sharma, IQAC Coordinator of the college was the guest of honour for today's event. He appreciated the efforts of organising team and encourage the NCC& NSS Volunteers to spread awareness among the peer groups and their respective regions.

Dr. Vishal Sharma, Prof.(Dr.) Koushal Kiran, Prof. Mohd. Ashraf were the instrumental in organising the event.

The whole program was coordinated by the CTO Prof. Shiv Kumar.
