Heritage School Secondary Wing celebrates its XIX Annual Day with splendour

JAMMU: Heritage School Secondary Wing, celebrated its XIX Annual Day with grandeur and enthusiasm at the prestigious Zorawar Singh Stadium on Thursday.

The event was a grand showcase of the school's remarkable talents, achievements, and rich cultural diversity, reinforcing its dedication to delivering quality education and fostering a vibrant cultural community.

The Annual Day celebration was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, the Chief Guest, Dr. Piyush Singla, Secretary Revenue, Planning, Development, and Monitoring Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Geetanjali Singla, Guest of Honour, Professor Minu Mahajan, Principal Government - PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Chairman Sunil Gupta and Members of the Board of Trustees.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. Anika Gupta, The Head Girl of school student council delivered a heartwarming and inspiring welcome address, setting the tone for the day filled with celebrations and accomplishments.

A major highlight of the event was the captivating performance by the school orchestra, known as the 'Minstrels of Melody.' Their musical prowess left the audience spellbound and set the stage for an unforgettable day of festivities.

The Vice-Principal Heritage School Rashmi Thakur presented the school's annual report, highlighting the institution's achievements and milestones over the past year.

The pinnacle of the day's events was the cultural program titled "Wheel of Time." This mesmerizing performance depicted a tapestry of the human journey, symbolizing time as a dynamic force, constantly shifting and evolving. The captivating dance drama explored the intricate interplay between time, people, situations, and circumstances, illustrating the essence of adaptation and evolution. It featured riveting dance sequences that left the audience in awe.

The day was also dedicated to acknowledging meritorious achievements of students. To honour the unwavering pursuit of excellence,Geetanjali Singla presented Medallions to Adhyant Mahajan (97.2%, Commerce), Diya Gupta (96.6%, Medical), Arya Gupta & Divyanshe (96%, Humanities) & Saksham Gupta (95.8%, Non Medical), who were the toppers in their respective streams in AISSCE Exam 2022-23.

She bestowed the Best House Trophy to Dignity House for their outstanding performance in extracurricular activities for the academic year 2023-24.

In memory of Late Shri Jia Lal Gupta, who always espoused the cause of education, the Chairman of the school Sunil Gupta awarded a prize of Rs. 10,000/- each to students who scored 90% and above in the AISSE 2022-23 examination.

The Guest Of Honour, Prof. Minu Mahajan then conferred Golden Pockets to six students for securing 90% and above for three successive years beginning from class VI and awarded prestigious Scholar Blazers to ten students for their consistent academic excellence over four successive years beginning from class VI.

In her address to the august gathering, the Guest of Honour Minu Mahajan, complimented the efforts of the staff and students for putting up a vibrant cultural program and commended the management for upholding high standards of learning.

She emphasised the importance of discipline in achieving success in life through a parable of kite soaring high because of the string of discipline in the flier's hand. Similarly, it is the collective responsibility of the school and the parent in the wholesome development of the child.

The Principal Heritage School, Akash Pradhan concluded the event with a warm vote of thanks to all who contributed to the success of the Annual Day celebration.

The day's celebration culminated with the entire audience rising in honour of the National Anthem .
