Two-Day national conference concludes at GDC Samba

SAMBA: The two-day National Conference on Mathematical Sciences and Applications, organized by SPPND Govt. Degree College Samba, concluded successfully.
Abdul Majid Butt, Director Finance, HED, J&K, was the Chief Guest, while Sukhleen Kour (JKES), Director Planning, HED, J&K, served as Guest of Honour.
Special invitees included former Principals Dr. Satinder Singh, Dr. Anil Gunjoo, Prof. Shobha Gupta (former HoD Math.), Dr. Sanjay Verma, Principal GDC Udhampur, and representatives from co-sponsors, including Take-One and the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation Council, J&K.
The conference featured keynote addresses, technical sessions with 60 presentations, and 10 contributory talks. The technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Banwari Lal Gupta, Former Principal, Prof. Pragya Khanna, Principal, GDC, Hiranagar, Dr. Sairam Kalraj, IIT Ropar. The dignitaries were also felicitated with mementoes.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri warmly welcomed the dignitaries with gratitude and felicitated them with mementoes. She exhorted that mathematics is the poetry to finding logical solutions in the fast moving technological world. She appreciated the impeccable teamwork of the college in organising an innovative and insightful conference.
Abdul Majid Bhat praised GDC Samba for fostering academic growth and highlighted the practical relevance of mathematics in everyday life and career opportunities. From unraveling the mysteries of the universe with algebra to creating groundbreaking technologies through computational mathematics, this field connects abstract ideas to real-world solutions.
Sukhleen Kour emphasized the role of mathematical sciences in driving innovation and empowering society to overcome complex challenges. She further added that by encouraging research, creativity, and collaboration, mathematical sciences empower us to tackle complex challenges and turn possibilities into reality.
The conference brought together eminent researchers and students from institutions like IIT Madras, IIT Ropar, and SMVDU, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants appreciated the insightful sessions and meaningful academic discussions.
Dr. Virender Pal Singh, Organizing Secretary, presented the conference report, while Assoc. Prof. Narayan Dutt and Dr. Narinder Sharma co-ordinated and conceptualised the event.
The proceedings were anchored by Asst. Professors Rubina Kouser and Babita Kumari, and the event concluded with a formal thanks by Assoc. Prof. Renu Rajput.
