GCW Parade organises anti-drug awareness campaign

JAMMU: The NCORD Cell of Government College for Women Parade Ground, in collaboration with District Administration, Jammu today organized an awareness camp as part of "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" initiative.
The programme, hosted under the supervision of College Principal, Dr Ravinder Kumar Tickoo and Tehsildar Jammu Khas Paramdeep Singh, aimed at to sensitize students about the growing menace of drug addiction & highlight the devastating consequences of substance abuse on individuals and the society as a whole.
The program featured expert talks by health professionals Dr Arti Sharma and Dr Vandana Abrol, SHO Police Station Pacca Danga, Rakesh Jamwal and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Manjeet Singh.
THEY highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse, early signs of addiction, the importance of early intervention, rehabilitation, and societal support to persons struggling with addiction.
The students actively participated in the session, asking questions and engaging in meaningful discussions about how to avoid and overcome the dangers of substance use. The speakers shared different helpline numbers with the students to report and seek help for those entangled in the problem.
The Principal appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of continuous awareness campaigns to combat this societal challenge. He encouraged students to become ambassadors of change and spread awareness among peers and communities.
