FICCI FLO JKL organises awareness session on breast, cervical cancer

JAMMU: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL), led by Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary, organised an awareness talk on "Breast and Cervical Cancer" at Amar Singh Club Jammu.

The event was held in collaboration with Rotary Club and Aman Deep Hospital Amritsar, with support from Siba and Unnati Multistate Cooperative Society.

The programme aimed to clear myths and misconceptions about breast and cervical cancer, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, preventive care, and treatment options.
Senior BJP leader and former minister Priya Sethi attended the event as the chief guest.

She stressed the need for greater community awareness and the importance of early intervention in fighting cancer.
The keynote speaker, Dr Sheshank Mahajan, Consultant Surgical Oncologist from Aman Deep Hospital, delivered an informative and interactive session.

He spoke about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of breast and cervical cancer, urging women to go for regular screenings.

Aarti Chowdhary thanked Aman Deep Hospital, Rotary Club, the supporting organisations, and the media for helping spread awareness on this vital health issue.

She said that early diagnosis and timely treatment can save lives and emphasized FICCI FLO JKL's commitment to promoting women's overall well-being.

Members of FICCI FLO JKL, educators, and students from GCW Gandhi Nagar, GCW Parade, and Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial GDC Hiranagar also attended the session.

The event ended with a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries, partners, and participants for making the programme a success.
