DODA: In the run up to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, the District Administration Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and Director Ayush J&K organised a series of yoga programmes across the region.

Thee events were conducted under the close supervision of District Ayush Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo, with the aim to promote holistic well-being, fitness, and awareness about the physical and mental benefits of yoga among all age groups.

A major highlight of the day was the Yoga Mahakumbh, a grand yoga session held at the Bhaderwah Campus of the University of Jammu.

Around 200 students and faculty members actively participated in the energising event. The session featured key asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation, encouraging youth to integrate yoga into their daily routine for a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

In addition to this, several community-level yoga events titled Yoga Samavesh were held at AAM Udyanpur, Gurekhra, Kota, Hambal, and GAD Kandote. The sessions brought together people from rural and remote areas to practice yoga collectively, thereby fostering a sense of unity, wellness, and cultural pride. To ensure inclusivity and reach, GAD Kandote also hosted an online yoga session, allowing wider participation from those unable to attend physically.

The signature events mark a strong beginning to the upcoming International Day of Yoga 2025 and reflect the district's unwavering commitment to the nationwide movement for fitness and mental wellness through yoga. The combined efforts of the administration, Ayush Department, and local communities underscore Doda's role in embracing and promoting India's rich yogic heritage.
