RAJOURI: To empower the tribal communities, awareness camps under the Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJ-GUA) were organised today at multiple locations across the Rajouri district.

The initiative was held on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.

The camps were held at Panchayat Alal in Thanamandi Subdivision, Dhara Sanwala in Block Doongi, and Panchayat Dangote in Block Kalakote. A large number of tribal community members participated enthusiastically in these camps, demonstrating deep interest in learning about various welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented by the government.

The participants were sensitized about a wide array of Government schemes, with special emphasis on tribal-specific initiatives in the areas of education, livelihood, healthcare, skill development, and social security. Resource persons from the government departments briefed the public and facilitated on-the-spot assistance in registration and documentation processes.

The camps were closely supervised by senior officers including SDMs, ADCs and ACD, under the overall guidance of the Deputy Commissioner. Their active involvement ensured the smooth conduct of the programme and meaningful interaction with the tribal population.

The Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a focused initiative aimed at saturation of schemes in tribal areas, and the same are being held on a rotational basis to ensure coverage of all tribal villages in the district.
