Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Pledge Taking Ceremony held in GDC Ramgarh

SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized Online/offline Unity Pledge taking event on the eve of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, here today.

The event was organized by RRC, Eco-Club & IQAC of the College under the guidance and supervision of Prof.(Dr.) Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College.

The Students and the Staff participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered in Hindi as well as in English language.

At the outset, Prof. Risha Kumari and Dr Sandeep Kumar, highlighted the importance of the day and added that this day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India, who had a major role in the political integration of India by tying scattered states in one thread.

Prof.(Dr.) Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College(Coordinator of the event), quoting the official statement for National Unity Day by the Home Ministry of India said that the National Unity Day "will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country." She said that the country would always remain grateful to Patel's crucial efforts leading to the integration of India.

"Sardar Patel achieved the incredible feat of persuading almost every single one of the 565 self-governing princely states that had been released from British suzerainty, to accede to the Union of India. For his commitment to the national integration of the newly independent country, Sardar Patel earned the sobriquet "Iron Man of India"" she added.
