Govt SPMR College of Commerce organises Pledge Taking Ceremony, Anti-Drug rally

JAMMU: Cultural & Literary Committee, NCC, NSS Units of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, under the initiative of G20 and IQAC, on Monday organized a Pledge Taking Ceremony and Rally against the Drugs to institutionalize the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on the theme "Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life".

Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, Convener Cultural & Literary Committee said the objective of the rally was to raise awareness among the students and masses about the grave issue and its harmful effects.

Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college talked about the present status of Drug Menace in India and in particular Jammu. He said most addicts are between the age groups of 15 to 35 and also mentioned how Covid-19 disrupted the life of people and presented challenges for people with substance use disorders and in recovery.

Later, a rally was flagged off by the Principal of the college from college campus. Around 80 students participated in the pledge taking Ceremony and raised slogans on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan viz Say No to Drug, Nashe Ko Jo Apnayega Pura Jeevan Pachtayega, Nashe Ki Maar Sabse Bari Maar Barbad Kre Sukhi Parivaar.

Prof. Savita Jamwal HOD Economics, Dr. Monika Malhotra IQAC Coordinator, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma Convener Cultural & Literary Committee, Prof. Harpreet Kour, Prof. Rajni Bala, Prof. Apfan Ali NSS PO also accompanied the rally and took part in the Pledge Taking Ceremony.
