RAMBAN: Polling teams have safely reached designated polling stations across Ramban District scheduled to go for polling tomorrow as the district forms part of 4-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency.
The teams of officials were dispatched from different locations here under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary.
“Polling parties with EVMs and necessary materials, accompanied by security personnel have reached their destinations safely, despite moderate rainfall in the district” the DEO informed. HE added that over 2.19 lakh registered voters are set to exercise their right to vote in the district.
To ensure integrity of the electoral process, around 2211 polling staff including Zonal Magistrates, Sector Magistrates, Micro Observers, Zonal Officers, and Sector Officers and 2539 personnel from CAPF and Police have been deployed across the district.
The District has 12 special/model polling booths including Pink polling stations, Youth Polling stations, PwD Polling Stations, operated by women, youth and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) employees respectively.
Comprehensive arrangements for transportation, accommodation, and other essential facilities have been meticulously put in place in both assembly segments, AC-54 Ramban and AC-55 Banihal, catering to the needs of all polling staff and security personnel.
The District Administration has reaffirmed the provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at all 348 polling stations across the district, ensuring convenience of voters remains a top priority.
Following the flagging off of polling parties from Election Strong Room Ramban, the DEO reiterated the importance of voter participation in shaping the government and strengthening democracy.
As the polling teams embarked on their mission to conduct the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 in Ramban district, DEO Ramban urged voters to recognize their pivotal role in this democratic process.
With the assurance of fool proof security and comprehensive arrangements in place, the DEO encouraged all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote on April 19, 2024, and contribute towards building a stronger, more inclusive society.
Later, DEO and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range, Shridhar Patil, along with SSP, Anuj Kumar, ADC, Varunjeet Singh Charak, and other senior officers visited Pink Polling Station, at Maitra-A and inspected election arrangements. The DEO appreciated the arrangements made by the concerned staff in polling stations, especially in pink and other special booths.
Briefing, the media regarding security and law and order arrangements, the DIG said that fool proof security arrangements have been made in District Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar to conduct free, fair and transparent Lok Sabha elections. |
