DEO Jammu reviews preparations for polling day

JAMMU: District Election Officer (DEO), Sachin Kumar Vaishya, who is the Returning Officer for 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, on Friday convened a meeting  with AROs, Nodal Officers and district officers to rally efforts for smooth  conduct of polling in the Constituency scheduled on April 26, under the 2nd phase of Lok Sabha Elections-2024.

The meeting delved significant focus  on SVEEP activities, stressing the need to engage people from all walks of life and sections of society.

Key discussions revolved around preparations for the dispatch and reception of EVMs and poll parties, as well as the provision of facilities in accordance with ECI guidelines, including medical facilities.

Special arrangements for Green Polling Stations, Model Polling Stations and all Women Polling Stations were meticulously reviewed to ensure seamless operations on polling day.

Deliberations also centred on postal ballots and voting arrangements for service voters and essential service employees, with a strong emphasis on meticulous implementation.

All attending officers were briefed on their critical roles in the massive electoral exercise, underscoring the collective responsibility towards ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.

The meeting was also attended by ADDC Sher Singh, ADC Shishir Gupta, Deputy DEO Rameshwar Kumar, along with district officers and senior officers from line departments.
