DC Bandipora reviews Agriculture Sector

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman chaired a meeting to review the progress of agriculture sector in the district.

The DC assessed sub-division wise various aspects of the agriculture department meant for enhancing best agricultural practices and ensuring sustainable growth in the sector.

Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Javid Ahmad Samoon informed the chair that the district has 25583 hectare gross cropped area, out of which 17533 hectare is net sown area.

It was revealed in the meeting that under the HADP 2523 application were received in the agriculture sector, out of which 1844 applications have been approved and the rest are under process.

Evaluating current agricultural techniques and exploring opportunities for innovation and improvement to boost yields, the DC emphasized identifying infrastructure gaps and resource allocation challenges to enhance the overall agricultural ecosystem.

The meeting was attended by ADC Umar Shafi Pandit, ACR Shabir Ahmad Wani, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora Javid Ahmad Samoon, Assistant Director Planning Javid Ahmad Sheikh, SDAOs, AEOs, JAEOs and other concerned.
